Introducing, a crowd-pleaser, the perfect ending to any meal – the Dark Chocolate Cake! This dessert is rich, moist, filled with a creamy dark chocolate ganache that boasts an intense chocolate flavour, thanks to the premium dark chocolate used.

Ingredients:

For the Cake:
– 1 and ¾ cups all-purpose flour
– 2 cups granulated sugar
– ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
– 1 ½ tsp baking powder
– 1 ½ tsp baking soda
– 1 tsp salt
– 2 large eggs
– 1 cup full-fat milk
– ½ cup vegetable oil
– 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
– 1 cup boiling water

For the Ganache:
– 1 cup heavy cream
– 8 ounces good-quality dark chocolate, chopped

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350° F (175° C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add in the eggs, milk, oil and vanilla and mix until well combined. Stir in the boiling water last. The batter will be thin, but that’s perfect.

  3. Divide the batter equally into the prepared pans, smooth the top with a spatula, then bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  4. While the cake is cooling, start on the ganache. Heat the heavy cream in a saucepan over low heat until it just begins to steam. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped dark chocolate until completely melted and glossy. Let the ganache cool a bit until it thickens up to a spreadable consistency.

  5. Once the cakes have completely cooled, slather a generous layer of ganache on top of one cake layer. Place the second layer on top, then slowly pour the rest of the ganache over the whole cake, letting it trickle down the sides. Use a spatula to smooth it out, if necessary.

  6. Let the ganache set a bit in the fridge before serving.

This rich, decadent dark chocolate cake is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth! Happy baking!

Remember, baking is an art that requires patience and precision. With these practices, you are sure to create a show-stopping dessert that will be a hit at any gathering. Enjoy!
