Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup of water
  • 1/2 cup of whole milk
  • 1 stick unsalted butter (1/2 cup)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Instructions:

Choux Pastry:

  1. Heat your oven to 425°F (220 °C). Line a baking tray.

  2. In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine water, milk, and butter. Stir until butter is melted and the mixture starts to simmer.

  3. Remove from the heat, and immediately stir in the flour and salt with a wooden spoon, until a ball of dough forms.

  4. Return the pan to heat and cook over low heat for about 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly to dry out the dough.

  5. Transfer the dough to a large mixing bowl and let it cool for about 5 minutes.

  6. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each one, until dough is smooth and glossy.

  7. Scoop rounds of dough onto the lined baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, until puffs are golden and hollow inside.

Vanilla Cream:

  1. Beat the heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.

  2. Once the choux pastry puffs have cooled down, slice off the top of each puff and fill with the vanilla cream using a piping bag.

These luscious, cream-filled spheres of choux pastry are a real treat, and the best part is, they’re not complicated to make at all. Impress your guests, or yourself (because you deserve it), with this fancy-looking dessert that’s secretly simple to put together! So go ahead, roll those sleeves up, and get baking!

Cheerful baking!
